2009 SUMMER PROGRAM
JUNE 22 - SEPTEMBER 3

Program Activities:
Summer reading programs
Arts and Crafts
Organized outdoor activities and games
Field trips and special events

Reading is the one skill upon which all others are based yet research shows that students often lose some of their reading skills during the summer break. Our summer program is unique in that we provide our students the opportunities to see reading not just as a school time activity, but also as something that is also fun and a regular part of life.

Based on standards developed by the Department of Education and working with recommended reading lists suggested by local public schools, students will read three books during the summer program. The assigned work that accompanies the summer reading program will also be completed so that each student begins school in September with their summer reading assignments completed.

Children will also have the opportunity to express their talents in other areas of interest through activities such as arts and crafts, technology, sports, outdoor play and field trips.
